A split-second decision from passersby is why he’s still here |
A 73-year-old man in South Carolina is reflecting on what he calls an extraordinary act of kindness after two strangers pulled him from his burning truck just in time. According to WBTW, Steve Howell had been trapped and severely injured after a crash, unable to move, until two passersby stopped and acted without hesitation.
These complete strangers to Howell risked their own safety to pull him through the window and carry him away from the wreckage. In the aftermath, he described the rescue as arriving at exactly the right moment. Compassion moves quickly, and it can deeply change the course of a life.

opening up a childhood experience to more people |
A blind entrepreneur has created a way for people with low vision to build LEGO sets independently, further opening up the childhood experience. Matthew Shifrin’s nonprofit, Bricks for the Blind, now offers free, accessible instructions to help thousands of builders engage with the same creativity and joy, shares AP.
What began as a personal solution has grown into something much larger. From grandparents building with grandchildren to parents sharing the experience with their kids, the project is expanding what inclusion looks like, one set at a time.

His marathon run is powered by connection, not just endurance |
A blind runner is set to attempt a world-first marathon in the U.K. this weekend, using smart glasses and a global network of volunteers to guide and support him in real time. Clarke Reynolds will run the Brighton Marathon with the help of Meta glasses linked to Be My Eyes, connecting him to hundreds of people offering encouragement, navigation, and companionship along the way.
Clarke is running to raise funds for vision research charity, Fight for Sight, adding another layer of purpose to each mile. Beyond the finish line, the effort is about shifting perception, showing what’s possible when technology, community, and determination come together.

Brie Larson is rewriting the script on hosting |
Actress Brie Larson is rethinking what it means to host by shifting the focus to connection and ease. In an interview with The Healthy, she shares a more relaxed approach to gatherings, where meaningful time with others matters more than elaborate planning or presentation.
At its core, hosting can be a form of self-care, not stress. By letting go of pressure and embracing both social and personal balance, these moments of connection can support well-being in ways that feel both natural and lasting.

a place where wellness is designed for everyone |
Palm Springs is emerging as a model for more inclusive travel, with a growing focus on making wellness spaces accessible to people of all abilities. As explored by Condé Nast Traveler, new initiatives from autism-friendly certifications to thoughtfully designed spas are helping more people experience rest and restoration without barriers.
Here, accessibility isn’t an afterthought, but part of the experience itself, creating a version of wellness that feels more human, more welcoming, and ultimately, more complete.
