A Goodbye Stitched With Care |
After 35 years in the classroom, an Iowa teacher found a one-of-a-kind way to say her goodbyes. Before retiring, second-grade teacher Kim Rohlf surprised each of her students with handmade quilts inspired by their personalities, interests, and milestones, shares KCCI.
Beyond a farewell, the gifts were a reflection of the care and attention she brought to teaching throughout her career. Some of the most lasting lessons students carry with them aren't found in textbooks, but in the people who make them feel seen, valued, and remembered.

A New Vision for Aging With Dignity |
A new dementia village planned for Madison, Wisconsin is rethinking what memory care can look like. As Good Good Good reports, the community is modeled after an innovative concept first developed in the Netherlands, replacing institutional settings with a walkable neighborhood complete with homes, shops, parks, and gathering spaces designed specifically for people living with dementia.
Residents will receive the support and safety they need while continuing to enjoy many of the rhythms of everyday life. Supporters hope the project will help foster connection, independence, and a stronger sense of belonging. The plan is a compassionate new model for how communities care for people experiencing memory loss.

Healing Comes With a Wagging Tail |
Children's hospitals across the U.S. are increasingly turning to specially trained facility dogs to support young patients through some of their hardest days. According to AP, these full-time canine caregivers help reduce stress, motivate children during recovery, and bring moments of joy and normalcy into hospital life.
A growing body of research suggests that even brief interactions with facility dogs can lower anxiety, ease pain, and improve overall well-being. Whether helping a child take a few extra steps during physical therapy or simply curling up beside them during treatment, these furry companions are showing how healing can come in many forms.

What Happens When We Notice the Good |
A major new study found that practicing gratitude can improve mood almost instantly. Researchers tested several common gratitude exercises from writing letters to reflecting on positive moments, and found that participants consistently experienced greater positive emotions regardless of where they lived.
While gratitude wasn't a guaranteed solution for every aspect of well-being, it proved to be a remarkably reliable way to create a hopeful shift in perspective. Pausing to notice what's good can help bring a little more optimism and lightness into everyday life.

When it comes to gratitude journaling, simpler may actually be better. The Power of Positivity encourages us to let go of perfection and focus instead on a sustainable practice – whether that's jotting down three things we’re grateful for each day or simply noticing one good moment worth remembering.
Research suggests the benefits of gratitude come from consistently shifting our attention toward what's working, even on more difficult days. It's a gentle reminder that even the smallest moments of appreciation can add up to something meaningful.
