What Six Weeks Made Possible

A graduate student's class project is helping more adults with Down syndrome build confidence and independence long after they leave the school system. Created at Touro University Nevada and launched through Gigi's Playhouse, the six-week curriculum is expanding to 62 locations across the U.S. and into Mexico, giving participants practical tools for everyday life, reports KVVU.

The program focuses on skills like nutrition, self-care, communication, and self-advocacy, while also offering families support during the transition into adulthood. For participants like 29-year-old Otischa Smiley, the impact has been profound. "I feel like a new me, a new diva," she said after discovering newfound confidence.

Ancient Clues & New Connections

Some of the oldest clues about human connection have been hiding inside a cave in what’s now southern Türkiye. New archaeological discoveries, reported by CNN, suggest Neanderthals and early Homo sapiens may have shared more than the same landscape. They appear to have made similar tools, hunted the same animals, and even collected the same seashells.

Researchers say the findings add a new layer to our understanding of how these two human groups may have influenced one another over thousands of years. While many questions remain, the discoveries possibly point to a richer, more interconnected chapter of human history than scientists once imagined.

Hope Advances for Relapsed Lymphoma

A new treatment is giving fresh hope to people living with a type of slow-growing blood cancer that often comes back after treatment. The European Commission has approved a first-of-its-kind therapy for follicular lymphoma that, according to BioPharm International, helped keep the disease under control much longer than the current standard in clinical trials.

Instead of chemotherapy, the treatment helps the body's own immune system find and attack cancer cells. While it's intended for people whose cancer has already returned after multiple rounds of treatment, researchers say the approval marks an encouraging step toward more targeted, effective care with fewer of the challenges often associated with chemotherapy.

Rethinking What Productivity Means

Some of the most restorative moments in life might not look productive at all. Reflecting on her own experience for Verywell Mind, one writer explores how letting go of productivity guilt helped her stop measuring her worth by what she accomplished and start seeing rest as an essential part of a full, healthy life.

Along the way, she discovered that caring for herself wasn't taking time away from meaningful work, but was making space for it. By redefining productivity to include the things that restore energy, nurture relationships, and support well-being, she found a rhythm that felt more sustainable than constant striving.

The Wisdom of Living in Harmony

Some traditions begin with a simple idea that continues to resonate across centuries. Exploring the enduring philosophy of Daoism, The Conversation traces how this ancient Chinese tradition views the world as something that naturally seeks balance – and how its practices are centered on living in greater harmony with that rhythm.

While Daoism includes rituals, meditation, and centuries-old teachings, its central message remains surprisingly timeless: paying closer attention to the natural flow of life. Today, millions of people around the world continue to draw on its ideas as a way to cultivate perspective, steadiness, and a deeper connection to the world around them.
